We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Witham. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to support students in their academic, social, and personal development within a structured and inclusive learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students with learning activities, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to achieve their full potential. You will play a vital role in providing classroom support, managing behaviour, and facilitating learning opportunities for students of varying abilities.
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who is passionate about education and student support. While prior experience is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who need additional help with their learning.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Help students develop key literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Support students with behaviour management and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individual learning plans.
- Encourage student independence, participation, and engagement in learning.
- Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare and well-being of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, proactive, and supportive approach to working with students.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
