We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive SEN school in Chigwell. This full-time, permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on students with diverse communication needs. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing tailored interventions to support students' speech, language, and communication development. While prior experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced therapists and those new to the field. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified needs.
- Deliver therapy sessions, both individually and in small groups, tailored to students' specific requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication development.
- Monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to school staff on supporting communication needs in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with professional standards.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Understanding of a range of speech, language, and communication needs and appropriate interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
