We are seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor to join a vibrant Primary School in Westcliff-on-Sea. This full-time, temporary to permanent role offers an incredible opportunity to support students with SEND/SEMH needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group support to students, promoting confidence and independence in their learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo, and pastoral staff to implement tailored strategies and interventions.
- Facilitate and lead SEND/SEMH intervention groups for identified students.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, acting as a key point of contact for parents and carers.
- Monitor and record progress, maintaining accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
- Support students during break and lunch times, encouraging positive social interactions and behaviours.
- Assist with the transition of children into mainstream classes when appropriate.
- Employ behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to support student engagement and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH needs in an educational setting.
- Training or knowledge of therapeutic approaches such as nurture or Team Teach.
- Familiarity with EHCPs and risk assessments for children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
