We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Braintree. This full-time, contract role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students in their academic and personal development, working in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students in accessing the curriculum, ensuring they receive the guidance they need to achieve their full potential. Your role will involve supporting students with learning, behaviour, and well-being, helping them develop confidence and independence in their education.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and student support. While prior experience is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who need additional help with their learning.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and creating an inclusive classroom environment.
- Help students with literacy, numeracy, and key skills to boost their confidence and achievement.
- Support students with behaviour management and emotional well-being.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement individual learning plans.
- Encourage student independence, participation, and engagement in learning.
- Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare and well-being of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with secondary school students is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, proactive, and positive approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
