We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a passionate Humanities Teacher to join a supportive special school in Nine Elms. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to inspire and empower students with diverse needs in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
As a Humanities Teacher, you will develop and deliver engaging lessons across your subject area, fostering curiosity and encouraging critical thinking in your students. Working collaboratively with a dedicated team, you will help students achieve their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
This position is perfect for experienced educators or teachers looking to expand their expertise in SEN education, with professional development opportunities available to support your growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inspiring Humanities lessons tailored to the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and personal development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure continued improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to create a cohesive support network for students.
- Promote positive behaviour management and student engagement.
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and whole-school initiatives.
- Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum.
- A passion for working with students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.
- Previous experience in SEN education is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
