We are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing Special School in Harlow. This full-time, temporary to permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact students’ academic and personal development in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting academic and emotional development.
- Assist class teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet individual learning objectives.
- Create a safe and supportive classroom environment, fostering positive relationships with students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Support students in developing social skills and managing behaviours using therapeutic strategies.
- Assist with educational trips, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
- Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and maintain confidentiality in all professional matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children with SEMH, Autism, or Moderate Learning Difficulties.
- Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning, such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- Familiarity with attachment theory and behaviour management strategies.
- A compassionate and patient attitude, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
