We are seeking an inspiring SEMH PE Teacher to join a progressive SEMH School in Vauxhall. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and well-structured PE lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Foster physical and emotional well-being, promoting teamwork, self-regulation, and a love for physical activity.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using data to adapt teaching strategies and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic development of each student.
- Organise and lead extracurricular sports programs, encouraging participation and skill development.
- Uphold the school’s behaviour management policies, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives and contribute to the school’s ethos and community spirit.
Qualifications and Experience
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong understanding of the PE curriculum and its adaptation for SEMH students.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience teaching in an SEMH or SEN setting.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices or additional qualifications in SEN/SEMH.
- Creativity in delivering lessons that engage and inspire students with diverse needs.
