We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated PRU Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Dagenham. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, supporting students who may face behavioural or emotional challenges.

 

As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning, working closely with teachers to support their academic and social development. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, offering a pathway for career progression in a rewarding educational setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and group support to students in a Pupil Referral Unit.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Help students manage their emotions and behaviours in a structured and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Pupil Referral Unit or working with students with behavioural challenges is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
