We are seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a supportive SEMH School in Lewisham. This full-time, permanent role offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire students through physical education while helping them build confidence, resilience, and well-being.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual who can engage students in creative and inclusive physical education activities while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and self-confidence through a range of physical activities.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment that encourages students to participate and succeed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular sports program and encourage student participation.
- Uphold and model the school’s ethos and values, ensuring high standards of behaviour and engagement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience teaching in SEMH or SEN settings.
- Knowledge of strategies to engage students with diverse learning needs.
- A creative and adaptable approach to teaching.
