We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision / PRU in Redbridge. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent role provides a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who require a tailored and engaging approach to education.
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver inspiring and accessible lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies, helping students develop their knowledge and critical thinking skills. Working closely with support staff and external professionals, you will create an inclusive and structured learning environment, ensuring that every student is given the opportunity to succeed.
This role is perfect for an enthusiastic educator who thrives in a supportive and student-focused setting. While prior experience in alternative provisions, PRUs, or working with students with additional needs is desirable, it is not essential, as professional development opportunities will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons that cater to the individual needs of students.
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with additional learning requirements.
- Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals to implement individual learning plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring lessons are adjusted to maximise student success.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies to engage and motivate learners.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
- Experience in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or with students requiring additional support is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for supporting students through an engaging and inclusive approach to education.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
