We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Geography Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Hornchurch starting in September 2025. This full-time, permanent role is open to both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators who are eager to inspire a love of geography in young people.
You will join a supportive and well-established humanities team with a strong focus on engaging students through curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Encourage a deeper understanding of physical and human geography through interactive and thought-provoking lessons.
- Assess and track student progress to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Contribute to curriculum development and subject enrichment activities.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Support whole-school initiatives and attend relevant staff meetings and CPD sessions.
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- QTS or expected QTS by September 2025.
- Degree in Geography or a closely related field.
- Suitable for ECTs or experienced teachers.
- A passion for geography and making learning meaningful and accessible.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and the welfare of all students.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
