We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ECT Humanities Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Braintree. This full-time, permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to develop their teaching practice within a supportive and high-achieving school environment.
As an ECT Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across History, Geography, or Religious Studies, inspiring students to explore the world around them and develop critical thinking skills. You will receive dedicated mentoring and professional development, ensuring a strong foundation for your teaching career.
This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher looking to specialise in Humanities education, with access to structured induction support and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Humanities lessons, aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach subjects such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies, fostering curiosity and independent thinking.
- Inspire students to develop analytical, research, and debating skills.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level Humanities examinations.
- Use creative and inclusive teaching strategies to engage learners of all abilities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies to encourage student engagement.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status.
- A strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards.
- Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
- A passion for teaching and inspiring students to explore historical, geographical, or ethical topics.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
