Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Art and Design Technology lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Inspire creativity and innovation in students while developing their practical skills and self-expression.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic and emotional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons and providing constructive feedback to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to meet the holistic needs of students.
- Promote the school’s ethos, values, and commitment to the success of every learner.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and whole-school initiatives that enrich the school community.
Qualifications and Experience
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialism or proven expertise in Art and Design Technology.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching in an SEMH or SEN setting.
- Knowledge of strategies to support students with complex needs.
- A creative approach to problem-solving and curriculum delivery.
